thirteen

“Listen to the sound of my cry,

    my King and my God,

hear the whispers

of hungry children;

give ear to the fears

of animals displaced

and terrorized by bush fires;

be attentive to those

huddled as drones

pass over their homes;

give ear to the

lonely, the forgotten,

the broken, the grieving;

tune in to those

who have no voice,

but whose hearts overflow

with worry and fears

and

teach us to listen

as intensely

as you
