until our eyes get
heavier and heavier,
you will bring us
a glass of water
as we struggle to
stay awake,
you will put a new
bulb in the night
light so we won't
be scared,
you will sit in
the corner chair
until we fall asleep

you will be there
when we wake
in the morning.
