sometimes,
it is not a big
piece of wood
which inflicts pain
but the keyboard
on our device.
sometimes,
it is not a right hook
to the jaw which
knocks a person down,
but our finger pointing
at them while we talk
behind their back.
sometimes,
it is not the meanest
junkyard dog which
scares people silly
but that righteous,
compassionate believer
convinced their words
are all another person
needs for healing, rather
than a gentle touch.
