the haughty couture shops,

i had to buy into

those ponzi schemes

which promised all the riches

i saw piled up on the tables

of the banquets of all the

Metabillionaires and X-men,

until you grabbed me

by the scruff of my soul

to set my weary feet

back on the path of simplicity.
