they will be on those
pages
printed on demand,
another copy to
gather
dust
in our homes;

we will carve them
in concrete
setting them out
on lawns,
watching
as they are turned
into a tennis ball
lobbed back and forth
by lawyers;

politicians will put them
into their stump
speeches,
using ink which turns
invisible
once the election is
over;

but on our hearts,
and in our souls?
