Fifth Thursday in Lent

“As it is, there are many members, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you,’ nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’” 1 Corinthians 12:20-21

on the contrary,
Broken-hearted God,
we do our level best
to make sure folks know
we have no need of them
for reasons too many to count
and for too many reasons
that really should not count,
but
that is just the way
it is
