Second Saturday in Lent

“Think of us in this way, as servants of Christ and stewards of God's mysteries.” 1 Corinthians 4:1

we think our job
is to make the clues
as difficult as possible,
to plant as many
false flags as we can,
to send people down
so many rabbit holes
they cannot find their way,
to add so many footnotes
and all the resources we know
but
in reality,

we are simply to hold
the person’s finger as
they follow along the story
of God’s grace and life
for them, until they reach
the point they can finish
the mystery on their own.
