the Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious to you;

may we refuse
to hoard peace, even
as we turn to face
the oppressors of our time.
may we always offer
grace to those around us
as we look at the ones
who need it most.
may we be as kind
to the folk who trouble us
as those who know us
at our worst continue
to bless us.
