your old abacus may be
gathering dust in the corner

and your once brand new

adding machine is now vintage,

but we remain convinced

that you are nothing more

than a glorified accountant

wearing a worn green visor,

bent over your thick ledgers

settling up the accounts 

for every one of us, 

and so,

we miss you using 

the ink stamp and marking

each of our names as

'forgiven.'
