we follow the pied pipers
of prejudice and pickiness,
and you run to gather all
we chase away with our fears.
we cling to every hollow
and foolish words of celebrities,
and you listen to the whispers
of children who huddle in bomb shelters.
we are easily seduced by
all the knuckleheads around us,
while you long for us to notice
you waiting for us to catch up
on your journey to justice.
