"The LORD is king, he is robed in majesty; 

    the LORD is robed, he is girded with strength.
He has established the world; 

   it shall never be moved;
your throne is established from of old;
   you are from everlasting." Psalm 93:1-2

you cast the Star

in the sky so we could

find you when we needed you.

you took apart your throne

to craft a manger for your bed

lining it with strips of your robe

woven from grace and love.

you stored your majesty 

in the back of the closet

and slipped into the frayed,

comfortable shirt of humility.

you boxed up all your power

and might, dropping them off

at the local thrift store, and 

ignored the taunts of the bullies

taunting you from the corner,

laughing that you had become

as weak as a newborn baby.
