some
see you a curmudgeon,
yelling at us
to get off your lawn, but
you are the neighbor
   shoveling walks in winter,
   offering spring bouquets,
   dropping off baskets
      of home-grown produce
      in the summer,
   carving pumpkins with
   kids in the fall.
