did not come proclaiming the mystery of God to you in lofty words or
wisdom.” 1 Corinthians 2:1
not in hifalutin sermons,
but in soft whispers of love,
not in books so thick we can’t hold them,
but in words written in the sand,
not in detective stories with too many clues,
but the simple declaration
at the end of all time,
“I told you not to be afraid,”
as we are swept up in God’s arms
