“But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion;
and they woke him up and said to him, ‘Teacher, do you not care that we are
perishing?’” Mark 4:38
when the waves of worry
threaten to sink our hearts
and the thunder of rumors
rattles the windows of our souls,
we look to see if you care, but
you are working 24/7
on a vaccine for the world,
handing out grocery bags
full of hope to those who
found all the shelves stripped
by the hoarders,
stretching your aching back
and rubbing tired feet, before
heading back on your shift
in the hospitals
