whose temper must be curbed with bit and bridle,

may we not be
so stubborn that
we are not willing
to stop digging our
feet into the ground,
but dare to walk with
you into an unknown future.
may we not be so
foolish as to think that
the yoke you offer to us
is an impediment to our
freedom, but rather an
arm placed tight around us
so we know we do not
have to do it all by ourselves
