give us strength

to offer compassion

not criticism,

to share kindness

not kibitzing,

to care for the vulnerable

not devalue their worth,

to welcome the forgotten,

not walk past them,

to be more like you,

and less like us

O Lord,

give us strength

to be as weak

as you dared to be
