we put those who
signed the letters up
on the pedestals, but
you notice the folk
who set up the chairs
for worship,
who hand out the bulletins,
who scrub the dishes
after potluck suppers,
who clean the bathrooms,
all those whose names
we can’t quite recall
if we are asked on a
test
