“‘Those who withhold

           kindness from a friend

  forsake the fear of the

           Almighty.’” Job 6:14

we could feed

the hungry, but

lock our pantries,

we could comfort

lonely children

but our compassion

is in the lock box at the bank,

we could release

the forgotten from

the grasp of injustice,

but our hearts

are in the back

of the freezer
