the look on the struggling
child's face when they
finish reading a book
with no one helping,
the old friend rushing
to wrap their arms around us
after not seeing each other
since the last reunion,
the whispers of love
shared between the
octogenarians sitting in
front of us at the movies . . .
pearls beyond price.
