Third Saturday in Lent

"Be strong, and let your heart
   take courage,
all you who wait for the
   LORD."  Psalm 31:24

when cancer
weakens
our resolve,
when cracks
appear in
our hearts,
when sorrow
absorbs
every tear
we have -
let us
stand up
to these
bullies and
not let them
push us around.
when the shadows
seep under
the edges of
our doors,
slowly creeping
towards our bed,
ready to grab
us by the hand
and drag us
into our fears,
let us wait,
for the Lord has
just gone down
the hall to get us
a glass of water
and will be back
to sit by our
side until
morning.
