this season might
be a lot easier for us,
if you didn't think you
needed to remind us
of those for whom
this is not the most wonderful
time of the year, but
days filled with ashes-filled hearts,
dreams ground into dust,
grief to overwhelming to bear,
emptiness echoing in their souls.
