when we can’t wait
to hurl anger at others,
let us whisper peace;
when we long
to utter judgment
against those we cannot
abide,
may we speak out
for justice;
when we want
to mock those whose
loss is due to their
own foolish choices,
may we embrace them
with words of grace and
hope
