while we are turning
around shushing those
at the back of society,
while we are telling
the forgotten to passively
accept their situation,
while we are searching
for duct tape to cover
the mouths of young people
crying out for the creation,
you
are setting up the biggest
speakers you have,
sound checking the mics
so they work properly,
and just itching to crank
up the volume knob
on the audio console
until everyone pays attention.
