remind us, Tender One,
that not every spiritual
gift is a highfalutin one.
the gift of napping
calls to mind keeping
the sabbath every day.
the gift of solitude
is modeled for us by
the very One we follow.
the gift of wonder
is shown to us in
every baby whose eyes
delight in everything around them.
the gift of gratitude
is as simple as a prayer
over a hurried lunch and
a whispered 'thank you'
before closing our eyes
and resting in your grace.
