for all i have tossed aside

as easily as a discarded apple core.

for all whom i slammed a door

(real or imagined) in their face.

for all i have wished 

a life worse than death and

those for whom i would not

offer a shoulder to roll away the stone.

for all whose name i have forgotten

and would not take any medicine

or courses to improve my memory.

and for those i would not

offer a hand to pull to safety,

Lord, 

have mercy on me.
