even if

"'Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory,
     for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready;'"  Revelation 19:7

even if we never

opened the invitation,

even if the RSVP

gets lost in the mail,

even if our gift

is insignificant compared

to those brought by

the rich and powerful,

even if all we have to wear

are the clothes we had on

when we got off work,

yet

you will run to throw

your arms around us,

handing us a glass of wine,

flagging down a server 

carrying the tray of bruschetta

and showing us our place card

at the table close to the

chocolate fountain.
