not just at weddings,

or saying goodnight

   before turning out the lights;

not just a hurried kiss

before rushing off

to school, work, a run;

not just a word,

a card, a gift,

   or emoji, but

never-ending,

bending-but-not-breaking,

always faithful though fallible,

wrapping another like a quilt

but giving them space to breathe

love
