"And they went and woke him up, saying, 'Lord, save us! We are perishing!'" Matthew 8:25

maybe

we need to stop

counting numbers of bodies

at a given worship service

and figure out how to

serve the forgotten 

we never seem to notice.

maybe

when we wring our hands

as we look at the budget

and wonder how long we

might keep the doors open

we should look out the windows

and notice the neighbors

we haven't taken the time

to meet at this point.

maybe

instead of crying out 

from our desperation and

worrying about perishing

we should start pushing the

stone away from fear's tomb

where we find ourselves

and step into God's resurrection.
