“Of course, there is great gain in godliness combined with contentment;” 1 Timothy 6:6

it is so easy to be
content in our lives,
so content, that going
without shopping, or
eating out, or buying
more stuff we don’t
really need seems almost
liking adding another bar
to that perfect attendance pin
people used to wear,
but is it truly any sort
of gain or increase in godliness
if we will just go out and
shop, or eat, or stream,
or party, or buy that same
useless stuff on some
other day?
