"For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

we can join the grumblers
and whiners who want to go back

to those so-called good old days

when women were chained to a stove,

when kids never opened their mouths,

when everyone knew and kept their place

churning out those bricks and mortar

for the fancy homes of the bosses (who,

surprise of surprises, were those

selfsame grumblers and whiners . . .)

or we can dare to follow the One

across the Freedom River into

that land called promise where

each person is free to be 

graced

valued

accepted

beloved

by God, and by us.
