we will findthe King of glory
not in the corridors
of power and might
but in the hallways
of a hospice center
walking with weeping
family members.
we will find
the King of glory
not on committees
trying to come up
with another action
plan to end poverty
but on the street corners
with folks who hope we
might at least share the
crumbs of our lives.
we will find
the King of glory
not in the tall steeple churches
or the big box buildings who
hide their identity with strange names,
but with the little children
taking handmade Christmas
cards to the loneliest folks
in their neighborhoods.
