Third Sunday of Advent

"On that day I will raise up
    the booth of David that is
           fallen,

and repair its breaches,
   and raise up its ruins,
   and rebuild it as in the
            days of old." Amos 9:11

from the ashes

of our despair, may

hope rise like a phoenix,

from the rubble

of bombed out cities

may bridges of peace

be built to span chasms 

of ancient enmities,

from the emptiness 

of our hearts may 

you tap deep reservoirs

of love we thought 

had long ago dried up.
