beholding your power and glory." Psalm 63:2
bathed in the kaleidoscope
of colors pouring in through
those mosaiced windows, may
we also see your beauty in the
chalk art drawn in the church
parking lot by the kids who feel
they are not welcome in your house.
marveling at the sheer magnificence
of muscles, sinews, arms, legs,
eyes, ears all running and swimming
and riding and breaking in events
which leave us breathless in our
chairs, which we leave only for a snack,
may we see you, in all your foolishness,
your weakness, your mud-caked feet
and callused, unwashed hands as you
continue to walk among us, even as
we trying to ignore you.
